Knock knock, who's there?
The black race, experiencing injustices
Have to live accordingly, when we never wanted this
We were perfect beings in our motherland
The sight of our own utopia is what we demand
Because in the U.S. it's shit that I don't understand
How one can feel obliged to kill another man
Knock knock, who's there?
It's the biased community that claim the killer wasn't trigger happy
They're right, the fact is he was actually nigger happy
Who's to blame, the state of Florida?
Because they have these flawed laws
Or the community itself on "neighborhood watch" looking for black paws
Tired of us brushing things under the rug, not having the balls
From all the prominent figures that have made sacrifice, I think it's time for Obama to fight for the cause
Knock knock, who's there?
It's Trayvon Martin, the topic of discussion
The one who took the bullet over the concussion
Not given a choice to make a decision
Instead forced in the direction of eternity living
And I guess a young teen can't wander the streets
Wearing specific clothing brought him to his defeat
While eating skittles and sippin on an Iced tea?
Assumed that he needed a meal with that, so was given a bullet to feed him
I guess this was the black man's freedom
Knock knock, who's there?
The 911 call, that actually told it all
I feel threatened, "and he's a black male",
is that the tale to tell?
Or better yet, "self-defense" is always the words to yell
And the police allows that to be a scapegoat, instead of sending him to a cell
You mean that a person's skin tone
Made you react in a manner that now more of the black race is gone?
Is it just me, or is it a conspiracy?
The fact that the state of Florida is on the same accord with Zimmerman and Florida P.D.
We must also remember Emmett Till, The same innocent teen
That faced racial brutality
And today, we still face "harsh" reality
On the surface we're considered a minority
Yet, blacks are in our own category
for the simple fact, other races aren't facing such tension
It's time for us to start taking more of a political stance to get the people's attention
Knock knock, who's there?
It's the resolution
What needs to be done to come to a satisfying conclusion?
This case need to be heavily considered,
Florida laws should be reconsidered
No more innocent futures should be hindered
The killer needs to have his life surrendered
The public must bring forth change by taking heed to the situation
Do something amazing, to show compassion for this devastation
Knock knock, who's there?
The victim's family, who must experience these trying times
We must be sympathetic towards this hardship and extend a hand
To help, bring forth change, and to ease the mourning
For that day, the family would have never thought that would be Trayvon's last Morning!
Knock knock, who's there?
The injustices, and My condolences!
"Woooow! Smh…. They killed us…AGAIN!?! When will it end!?...I cry…and I beg…When will it end??
What did we do to deserve this!?
Does the color of our skin REALLY make us worthless!?
A life with no purpose? A life that's not valued.
This tragedy speaks VOLUMES of the dosage of VALIUMS our citizens MUST be on!
For you to able to SIT in your living rooms swift and calm,
While our Trayvon Martins get KILLED in lawns!
And you carry on…like…nothings wrong.
But see I carry on too! I'm just as guilty as you
Cause I've accepted this as the norm
News like this is NO LONGER a storm…or an earthquake.
It's just…a part of how the world goes round. No need to make the earth shake.
No need to ring thee alarms, cause…Trayvon and the President have the same color arms.
Meaning that his position means nothing!
All THIS did, was remind us that this coulda been one of HIS kids!
KILLED! For Walking While Black (WWB) in front of HIS crib!
Could you imagine that!?.........Or is that what it has to take???
I know that sounds harsh or sad to say, but it feels like we've tried EVERYTHING ELSE to get this DAMN cycle to break!
And still it continues… We've tried marching in venues. Gave them Martin and men who,
Would DIE for world piece…but then end up extinct too?!?....
So then what…..do we..…do???...Do we lose?
Just accept the 2nd class citizenship - that they branded us with – since we "landed" in this country!?
Or do we fight! Fearing nothing of today, but knowing in the back of our mind that injustice will STILL find a way to maintain its reign…
Or do we move?? Is that what America needs!?
For all of us BLACK, SUSPICIOUS, MONKEY, NIGGER looking AFRICANS to leave!?............
I was only seventeen. I had the world in my palms, with a head full of dreams.
I left a basketball game for a bag of skittles and an Arizona tea.
Who coulda known that this would be the end of me?
As I walk past a gate. There I stand.
Facing the holder of the key – to my life in his hands.
I wrestle for it back, hoping to get a second chance. To live how the Lord and my mama had already planned.
I'm loosing my leverage. I'm loosing my balance.
"Somebody!! Please help me!!!"…I cried at my loudest.
They said they called the police…but really…I doubt it
Cause he was able to pull out his gun. And that bullet rang out it.
That's all that it took... Now my vision is hazy…
All I see is my mother's womb…and there's me as a baby…
This white light just gets brighter…this image is crazy…
There's this angel named Gabriel…and on his facial, a tear begins shaping…
He said, "Trayvon. Please come. For God is awaiting…"
The deed has been done. The heavens have spoken.
This is just a continuous act…of a cycle unbroken."
Trayvon Martin needs justice! Although it seemed like everybody was jus trying to STOP KONY last week. This is happening in OUR own country, OUR own neighborhoods, OUR own children. I have two brothers the same age an it couldve happened to either of them or any other BLACK kids jus trying to get a bag of Skittles & some Arizona Tea. So pay attention, hear the facts and spread Trayvon Martin's name so we can make him FAMOUS. He at least deserves that...
Young Trayvon was suspicious and killed because he was BLACK. Emmett Till was murdered because he was BLACK. More than half of the U.S. Prison population is BLACK. Africa was colonized because it was the land of BLACKS. The people of Africa were turned into slaves and called BLACK. BLACK women face the most extreme forms of racism, sexism, homophobia and classism. And just because the president is BLACK doesn't mean a thing if the world sees BLACK people as inhumane. I hope all this anger politicizes people, especially those seen as BLACK. The end of our problems means an end to our BLACKNESS.
